The Animal Health Clinic is proud to have one of the most sophisticated animal hospitals in the Covington area. We boast a highly qualified staff of doctors, technicians and support staff dedicated to meeting and exceeding all of you and your pet's expectations. Our doctors are continually updating their skills, attending the most up to date continuing education seminars. Two of the more recent seminars our doctors have attended include the ASIF Ohio orthopedic seminar on fracture management and the External Skeletal Fixation course in Aimes, Iowa. Dr. Beckers, the owner and one of the veterinarians at the Animal Health Clinic, has completed a four-course management seminar hosted by AAHA in Purdue. She believes keeping up with technology and the newest medicine is a must in providing the best care possible for your pets.
Our staff is truly the back bone of the Animal Health Clinic. Our receptionists excel at making the complex art of Veterinary Medicine more understandable and are constantly developing ways to make our clinic more hospitable. Our technicians are committed to advancing their skill sets, and one of our technicians is presently on course to finish a two year program to become certified as a Veterinary Technician. With the help of the enthusiasm shown by our technicians,
we have also advanced our dentistry skills to include endodontics, dental radiology, sealants, braces, orthodontic appliances and many more. We have cultivated a staff that exceedes our expectations in caring for you and your beloved pets.
At Mary's House we have always had a special concern for owners who choose to board their animals with us. It is one of our strongest goals to make this an enjoyable experience for owner and pet alike.
We have developed group playtimes in our spacious yards and have sent our boarding managers to school to help them better understand the "psyche" of the animals. We are proud to have developed a Pet Bed and Breakfast that is comfortable for your pets. We take your pet's stay with us very seriously at Mary's House and try to make their stay with us a happy and pleasurable one. We are continually growing our facility and hope to add a rehab fitness center, swimming pool and luxury suites in the near future. Keep in touch!

Dental Procedures
Dentistry has come a long way for your companion animal and we have stepped up to the challenge. Dr. Beckers has attended seminars by Dr. Jan Bellows, one of the leading veterinarians in veterinary dentistry, where she learned endodontics,
dental radiology, acrylics and braces for pets just to name a few. Our technicians have also advanced their knowledge by their continual enthusiasm in learning the art of veterinary dentistry. We believe keeping your pet's mouth in shape can add years to its life span. Preventive dentistry is therefore an important step to pet health. You may even see a Polaroid of your pet's mouth at your next visit to illustrate this importance.

Surgery
We understand how stressful surgery can be for a pet as well as its owner. We try to ease some of these worries by having state of the art Cardell monitors, pain management protocols and thermal water pads for your pets, not to mention a lot of T.L.C. We are always challenged to learn new technologies in surgery and medicine to make sure we are giving your pet the best in veterinary medicine and surgery. One of our newest protocols is the development of canine rehabilitation for your pet after surgery. We use electrostimulation and Laser pain management to help your pet through their recovery. Dr. Beckers is certified in canine rehabilitation, and the Animal Health Clinic is the only clinic in the area using electrostimulation and Laser as well as rehabilitation modalities for your pet's speedy, pain free recovery.
We are keeping up with technology by having one of the most up to date laboratories and diagnostic imaging machines in our hospital. We have been trained in ultrasonography and host the most state of the
art GE 5 ultrasound machine. This machine is comparable to the machines used in human hospitals. We do 90% of our blood work, urinalysis and cultures in house. This gives us the ability to get results fast and accurate. We use technology developed by NASA, the Abaxis Chemistry Analyzer and CBC machines.
Canine rehabilitation is a relatively new but important component to the field of Veterinary Medicine. It is the use of modalities such as passive range of motion, exercise, ice and heat, Laser, ultrasound, and electrostimulation to enhance and speed recovery of different injuries that inflict your animal. Canine rehabilitation can help problems such as back pain, tendonitis, recovery from orthopedic surgeries, neck pain, paralysis and many others.
Dr. Beckers has gone through a two year program to become certified in canine rehabilitation. We have seen many success stories such as Buffy, a laborador retriever that was paralyzed after Hurricane Katrina. After 3 weeks of rehabilitation Buffy was able to walk again just like before.
Laser therapy is new to veterinary medicine but is used widely in human sports medicine to speed recovery of tissue that has been insulted by surgery or trauma. Some of its uses in veterinary medicine has been for lick granulomas, chronic wounds, after surgery pain management, and tendinitis. Many more helpful uses are being found daily.
Through the action of photo-stimulation of light reactive biological receptors (chromophores) in the body, Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) has demonstrated the ability to significantly accelerate and enhance the body's natural defense and repair components in the presence of injury, inflammation and certain disease processes. By modifying the effects and limiting the duration of inflammation as well as enhancing specific repair and healing processes, LLLT is consistent in providing pain relief, reducing injury damage and loss of function, in addition to facilitating more rapid repair and stronger healed tissue structures.
